Want To Be Timely Yet Unpredictable?

A list of 31 ways I am trying to find the balance

I do this weird thing in my head where I picture how and what my kids will remember… scary, right?

I hope when I am old and gray or hanging in Heaven with my Jesus my kids remember me as a mom and woman who knew the proper time and place for things, behaviors, and attitudes.

I want to BE and BE REMEMBERED as a woman who knew when it was a time to…

put on a little extra makeup and a beautiful dress

throw on some rubber boots, a pair gloves, and a sunhat to dig in the dirt

pull on some spandex and sweat one out at the gym

put your hair in a top knot, throw on some soft pants, blare the music, and clean the house

embrace my feminine side

hang with the boys

Or a time to…

rest and relax

be busy

talk to strangers

mind your own business

give without question

graciously accept

How about knowing the time to…

make a list

enforce all the rules

have grace for bad behavior

stay up a little late

skip bath time

have fro yo for dinner

sleep in

ditch school/practice

Moms definitely need to take the time to…

pour a glass of wine

have an extra cup of coffee

engage in deep conversations

laugh until your face hurts

listen without judgement

be still

be present

pray hard

Doing the right thing for the right reason, at the right time, in the right place… is a skill to be learned, studied, and constantly improved upon.

May I be remembered as timely, yet unpredictable.

Lord, help me!

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens

Ecclesiastes 3:1

  1. Great inspiration for me! I just recently started to dream again wondering what I want my legacy to be and how I want to be remembered. I hope my Jesus blesses me with a life of fulfilled dreams and hope for my children. Now-a-days I think often about how not to take life so seriously, and learn to savor the moments that won’t last long, and LIVE fully, LAUGH often, and LOVE deeply.
