To The Millennials…

Guys… Be blessed!

Be encouraged!

Be amazing!

Be awesome!

Be you, bravely!!

(This prayer was read at my MOPs meeting yesterday and I couldn’t wait to share it with you!)

Your generation has taken a lot of heat.

You have been labeled the Millennial generation, the me generation, prone to jump from job to job, and trophy kids.

Despite all of this, we pray it will be your generation that will usher in the next great revival.

Your generation is blessed by youth and enthusiasm. You are willing and able to do anything for God. You are innovative, creative, and celebrators of diversity.

We pray you use these traits to lift up the next generation. That your generation and your children’s would be one to honor differences and embrace that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made”… all of us.

You, millennials, are asking great and significant questions about the role of the church in society and culture.

We pray that you would remain strong in your faith and boldly profess it as the culture around you becomes less accepting of you.

Our encouragement to you is, don’t lose the truth of the “rock” of Jesus Christ by which all else stands.

You have an incredible heart for justice and some of the world’s greatest issues like poverty, disease and the orphan crisis.

We pray (from Psalm 82;3) you continue to “defend the weak and fatherless and uphold the cause of the poor and oppressed.”

When you get tired of discouraged, remember the centrality of Jesus Christ, because ultimately He is the answer.

We pray that you will hold tightly to the truth of Jesus Christ, that He will pour out through your generation in the ways you can’t even dream about now.

We bless you with the same blessing Moses gave his people, Israelites, in the Old Testament:
“the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Yo! Let’s move mountains!

The generations before us are literally cheering us along!

We can make a difference… big or small. One person or many. Just do something.

What can you do today?

What will you do today?
