Here Goes Nothin’

Ok, so here’s the deal… I have toyed around with the whole blog idea for a couple years now and I have been afraid to do it since the moment it crossed my mind. I had/have so many reservations…

What will people think?

Will they like me?

Do I even want to let them in?

How far will I let them in?

Will I fail?

All that said, and a couple years of wrestling… Here goes nothin’! I am jumping head first in to this crazy thing called a blogosphere. For my first post I want to share with you how it all came to be. Here is the simple version… there are many more stories entwined in this one, but I will save those bits and pieces for future posts.

To start…I have this great husband, you can read about him here. And he literally Called. Me. Out. This summer we went to a lake in Minnesota for some much needed R&R and to say that this last year and a half has been hectic, would be a severe understatement. {Again, that will be a future blog post. It appears I have my work cut out for me!}

Anywho… Every time things in my world get quiet I would feel this tug on my heart. A tug that I know is from God alone. I could feel Him asking me, “So what now?” and to that I would respond, “Uh, I don’t know… You’re God!” I started telling Shane and a few others about my little run ins with the Big Guy. But after I told hubby about this last one he put me on blast, I mean, seriously, the guy just about threw me under the bus. {I secretly wonder if was just exhausted by watching me wrestle.}

We were at lunch on a beautiful lake, the sun was shining, there were ducks swimming, and we were alone… like just the two of us, ALONE {this is a pretty rare and special thing in our world}

And there I was telling him about my current/not so current struggle (I didn’t think to take a picture at that particular moment, but this one from a different night gives you the feel of the moment)…

How am I going to share my story?

How am I supposed to use what I have been given?

And most importantly, what is God calling me to do?

He looked me in the eyes and said, “So what are you going to do about it? It’s time for you to take a risk! How many times are we going to have this conversion?”  OUCH, right? But when God matched me with this man, He knew I was going to need someone who would call me out.

That conversation continued to unfold for a few weeks/months and when it was completely laid out it became this sweet little blog. So here I am, doing my darndest, and now I am going to share it with all of you. This is me. This is us. And this is about to get real.

I would love hear from you. What are your thoughts on my plunge? Are you ready for this?Give me some feedback in the comment section. (Crickets chirping)… Is anyone there?
