Great workout today

{Real Life Version}

I signed up for my (first ever) gym membership about a year ago and I am really enjoying it.

I was never really a gym person in the past but as we have multiplied in rabbit fashion…  It is more and more difficult to coordinate a run with double strollers, bikes, scooters, helmets, snacks, water, toys, sunscreen… You get the point.

It’s a lot of work.

Hence, the gym membership and it is one of the best investments we have ever made!

When I first started I would do my own thing on the elliptical and the machines. Then I even had my sister (workout Barbie) help me devise a plan. But that quickly failed because I actually had to think and prepare.

By the time I would get to the gym in the morning my brain capacity was/is minimal and I just needed someone to tell me what to do.

I was willing to do it. Just tell me.

That’s when I found boot camp.

I love it and I try my best to go 3 days a week. I don’t have to think about what I am going to do next… Beth takes care of that for me. She can be a bit scary intimidating motivating.

But you are not reading this to learn about my workout regimen…

You are reading it for the “Real Life” dirt.

I will not disappoint…

One of the reasons I have been so consistent is because of the childcare.

The kids can be in there for up to three hours a day!
[It’s obvious from my photos that I am not working out three hours a day. But I could. I am sure a crossfitter would/does. But if I was a crossfitter then I would have to blog and post about it… like, everyday.]

Ok, back to the childcare. They are amazing!

For the littles they have a watered down version of preschool with snacks, activities, projects, and dress up days. Adorable.

For the bigger kids they have a “gym” and they have to “workout” before they can play the video games. Manly stuff.

(I think I am telling you all this for justification.)

I would really be faking it if I didn’t confess that sometimes I go to the gym a little early so that I can sit on the green couch in the locker room and catch up on emails, facebook, the blog, nap, etc.

Sometimes I even have conversations with other adults. 10408542_1566945743581683_1209765053813066973_n

[Don’t judge. I get three hours a day. I am just trying to maximize my investment.]

Thanks to the childcare gym I am in the best shape I have been since college.

The gym is great.

Bootcamp is great.

Getting in shape is great.

Being healthy is great and all.

But the childcare is where its at!

  1. I second all of this!! The gym is a great place to not only get a great workout, but meet great people! We are all suffering together!
And the childcare is a great bonus too 🙂
