A quick recap/definition of FaKebook Friday:
On FaKebook Friday I will give an example of a FaKebook vs a Real Life version of the same story, essentially mocking the way we all have a tendency to put a spin on the lovely things we share on Facebook. FaKebook is the version of the story that you want everyone to see or know and Real Life is the version that you don’t really share.
Cold days call for some imaginary play. Kids are pretending to be puppies, complete with dog lunch and dog house. So silly!
It is super cold outside and I just didn’t have it in me to bundle the kids up and take them outside. I mean, seriously, it takes me FOREVER to get them all geared up. It requires locating 8 gloves, 8 boots, 4 beanies, 4 jackets, 2 sleds, and a partridge in a pear tree. Of course by the time we get out there I am in a full sweat, some one has to pee/has a poopy diaper or is too cold.
Due to the previously mentioned drama… I tried to think of a way to burn some energy in the house. Which brings us to the three of them pretending to be dogs. They running around the house on all fours and fetching for almost an hour when they got hungry.
Brady decided that dogs need to eat on the floor out of dog bowls and wanted food that resembled dog food. (dogs don’t eat sandwiches) Therefore you may have noticed the ever nutritious Cap’n Crunch Berries. Awesome… the lunch of champions. (you can just refer to me as super mom from here on out)
The most humorous part of this story is that after playing puppies and having a dog food feast, my kitchen floor looked the exact opposite of what it would have looked like if I would have actually fed a few dogs a meal of captain crunch kibble. Real dogs would have licked that sucker clean. That was definitely NOT the case.
There were rainbow colored crumbs everywhere! And of course they had to have some water with lunch (Don’t worry I’m not completely crazy… I kept it in sippy cups) and managed to get it all over the floor… since they are still kids. This created a nice sticky paste. There are still some fabulous colors to be seen in between the planks of wood.
Anywho… That would be my FaKebook vs Real Life take on our afternoon of playing puppies.
Was it fun? Yes!
Did the kids burn some energy? Yes.
Did they quickly replenish that energy with the sugar high from their super nutritious lunch? Yes.
Will I ever do it again? Probably not.
