FaKebook Friday – My (Not So) Photogenic Kids

All these lovely posts about perfect family adventures and Pinterest worthy meals make me wonder about the story behind them.  You know, the version of the story we don’t broadcast on the WWW.

So I came up with the concept of sharing some of our behind the post dramas.

I call it FaKebook.

FaKebook is the version of the story that you want everyone to see or know and Real Life is the version of the same story that you don’t really share for whatever reason…

Here goes…

{FaKebook Version}

Sweet moments captured of the Spratt Pack. Summer time fun!

{Real Life Version}

Let’s be serious… it takes threats, bribery, and a bit of pixie dust to get 3 kids to take a decent picture.

It usually goes a little something like this…

Ok kids, everyone on the step… I want to take a quick picture of you guys!

Smile!

Look at Mommy!

unnamed-9

MaryGrace!!

James!!

Brady… smile! Open your eyes!

unnamed-3

Seriously… the sooner you just look at me and smile… the sooner you can go back to playing.

Should we just go home?

unnamed

James, look at mommy!

Brady, smile!

Guys grab MaryGrace! She’s going under!

unnamed-6

PLEASE just smile for me!

If you smile you can have a snack!

Brady – open your EYES!!

unnamed-8

Smile!

Say Cheese!

(Making all sorts of ridiculous noises that I don’t know how to spell.)

GRAB SIS!! SHE’S GOING UNDER AGAIN!

unnamed-5

I guess this is as good as it’s gonna get. Thanks guys.

These bloopers are pretty comical. I typically try to delete them fairly quickly to save the space on my phone but sometimes life happens and I don’t get around to it.

Here is another set…

Remember this sweet photo for MG’s 3 month update? Well take a look at the other pictures from that same sweet moment!

The first one is not to bad… actually sorta sweet.

Slightly distracted by the dandelion in a quaint way.

Tried to get her to look up and lost the sweet moment.

Seems as though she has spotted something!

She is en route!

unnamed-13

Alas! Mommy’s water bottle! She is obsessed with back washing in my water.
(Don’t judge me for my plastic… we recycle.)

unnamed-10

It’s like I can hear her thinking… I am going to take this bottle and make it my own. Mom will never notice!

unnamed-12

Crisp, refreshing water… that’s some good stuff!

What was in that bottle?

unnamed-11

Well there you have it… The not so photogenic side of my children.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet… if you can handle more of my crazy antics…click here and like my Facebook page… you know you don’t never miss an excuse to feel better about yourself at my expense..

I know your email box is sacred and you have worked ever so diligently to protect it like a mother bird protecting her young…  but I really think you should leave your email address in the subscribe bar.

I cross my heart I won’t abuse being including in your circle of trust… I won’t spam you, I won’t sell your information, I just don’t want you to miss a thing!

  1. This is hilarious. 🙂 My kids are the same way of course! I think everybody’s are… My girls actually have a hard time looking at the camera. Like, they will finally be smiling at me, but their eyes are looking to the side, at the ground, at the ceiling, or wherever. The funny thing is my husband’s mom does the SAME thing. So I guess it runs in the family.
