4 Silly (yet effective) Ways I Simplify My Flock of Children

FullSizeRender (8) 1) I don’t use months when you ask me how old my kids are. They are simply, 10, 5, 2 & 1… not 125 mo, 63 mo, 29 mo, & 14mo. (And I am not impressed that you know that you have 27 month 3 day old. Ain’t nobody got time for that!)

2) I call them by very short nicknames… P, B, J, & MG. (Yes, I realize my boys are PB&J and it’s kinda fun when I call the three of them accordingly.) FullSizeRender (6) 3) Everyone has a specific color in the house. For example all things Payton are blue and all things Brady are green… toothbrush, luggage, etc. FullSizeRender (5) 4) I make the babies wear the same size diapers. So what if they are a little small on James and a little big on MaryGrace? It works and it keeps it simple. FullSizeRender (7) How do you streamline some of the daily things to keep life a bit simpler in your house?

  1. Cute pics!
I have specific laundry days: Mondays is kids laundry, Tuesdays is adult laundry, and Fridays is towel, sheets, misc. This helps me keep things straight, if this gets messed up then I usually forget the load in the washer and it sits there…for days…
i also have a cabinet in the kitchen that has three drawers. One for all the things they need for homework time, next is the dogs items, and the last is my 4 year old craft stuff. It keeps us from looking all over the house for a pencil or crayons.
PS. I was wondering why MG diapers seemed big 🙂 Great idea!

  2. I love the color assignment for each of the kids, all the way down to the luggage, and their initials
on the counter tops to keep messes to a minimum. It makes organization fun. Great job momma. I always pass your cleaver ideas on to other families. And my mom loves hearing about the things you do, saying “she is so smart, I love how she comes up with these things”
